jolene kelewae
Jolene Kelewae has been working in art and design for over two decades. She has participated in projects ranging from event, retail, and residential design. While growing up in NYC, Jolene was exposed to art and culture at a very young age frequently visiting museums, art galleries and attending the theater. By age 11, she had already been to Europe, Canada, and frequented the Caribbean, where her family is from. Traveling is what peaked her interest in observing and understanding how people live and interact in spaces . She was always amazed by how a space can awaken your senses and make you feel, especially when traveling abroad and experiencing different cultures. This is where her passion began for designing interior spaces. The desire to create a place with purpose. Connecting people to spaces where they live, work and play. She has designed for events in major night club venues in Chicago, as well as events being held at The Sterling House in NJ and at the Center for Contemporary Arts, in Bedminster NJ. Jolene loves mixing a variety of styles such as Mid Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, and Bohemian Decor. While she loves to work with neutral tones and more modern architectural elements, she loves to play with bold patterns and color by layering textures. Jolene also has extensive knowledge and experience in remodeling residential properties such as kitchens, bathrooms, basements, closets, and many other areas of the home. She has acted as lead designer on multiple kitchens with budgets over $200,000. Covered Bridge Cabinetry, a custom cabinet company, highlighted and featured Jolene’s designs as the winner of the “wow” kitchen of the month two times.
